Lindsay Key grew up in the West Village and has been living and designing in Brooklyn for the past decade. After working at Kenneth Brian Walker Interiors, her attraction to the intimacy and scale of residential design led her to start her own firm in 2010.
Since then, Lindsay has looked towards each new project as a unique opportunity to further develop an understanding of how color, light, and texture can make places feel personal. She believes that no detail is too small
Lindsay received a bachelors degree in Studio Art from Oberlin, and a BFA from the New York School of Interior Design.
David joined Key + shade as partner in 2012 and oversees project management.
Before joining Key + Shade, David studied finance at Florida Atlantic University and went on to have a career in television production. His interest soon shifted to spaces and the human relationships to them which can be seen through his understanding of layouts and materials. Since then, he continues to explore the relationships between light, space and logistics.
